Getting around
A car is the easiest way to get around. From the house you can reach the beaches of East Mani and the dramatic coastline of West Mani quickly and easily. Free private parking, with an EV charger, is right next to the house. The nearest airport is Kalamata (KLX), about 85–90 km away, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by car. Many international flights to Kalamata are seasonal (roughly April to October). Athens International Airport (ATH) is about 300 km away, approximately 3.5 to 4 hours' drive via the motorway through Tripoli and Sparti. We recommend hiring a car at the airport, as public transport in Mani is limited. KTEL Lakonias buses run from Athens (Kifissos bus station) via Sparti and Gythio to Areopoli, a journey of about 4.5 hours with only a few departures a day, so please check the current timetable at ktel-lakonias.gr. Local taxis based in Areopoli offer transfers, including from the airports; it's best to book ahead, and we're happy to share contacts.
Neighborhood
The house sits in a quiet, natural setting just outside Areopoli, a calm place to unwind away from everyday life. It's best known for its sunsets, which you can watch from the courtyard. Areopoli, the traditional heart of Mani, is just down the road. The picturesque harbour of Limeni and the authentic stone-tower villages of the peninsula are close by as well.
